This policy explains how VINWise handles information when you use the website or purchase a vehicle report.

We may collect the registration you search, your email address, order and payment identifiers, technical logs, support messages and analytics information where measurement tools are enabled.
Payments
Payments are processed by Stripe. VINWise does not receive or store your full card number. Stripe processes payment information under its own privacy terms.
Accounts and security
Customer and affiliate accounts may use a password and single-use email links. Passwords are stored only as one-way hashes. Secure session identifiers, failed-login counters and temporary lockouts are used to protect access.
How information is used
Information is used to create and deliver reports, provide unused pack credits, authenticate accounts, prevent abuse, support customers, reconcile payments, administer affiliate commission, improve the service and meet legal obligations.
Affiliate referrals
When you arrive through an approved partner link or enter a partner code, VINWise may store a first-party referral cookie and record the referring partner, landing page, order amount and commission status. Partners do not receive your registration, email address, report contents or payment details.
Vehicle data
Registration details are sent to specialist vehicle-data providers to perform the requested lookup. The provider may keep technical logs according to its own contract and privacy terms.
Retention
Order and completed report records are retained for service delivery, account access, accounting, fraud prevention and support. Completed reports are stored in My VINWise without a default expiry, subject to lawful deletion requests, legal obligations and any retention setting clearly applied to the service.
Your rights
Depending on applicable law, you may ask for access, correction, deletion, restriction or portability of personal data, or object to certain processing.
